New WikiResearch Projects begin in a standard format. Registered members of Wikidot are welcome to add and reorganize information. Pages can be added as need demands, but relevant information should never be deleted unless it is deemed perfectly redundant or outdated. Emphasis should be placed on organization and citations—dates or newspaper articles, times, locations, and names for quotations, and proper references for published work. Work that is not cited should be clearly labeled so the proper citation can be found.
Significant changes should first be discussed in the Forum area ("Suggestions") of the individual project. When a meaningful consensus is reached, the site manager will carry out the suggested restructuring. Anyone can participate in the forum areas. It is also in the forum area of the portal that new projects can be suggested.
Each project will have a space dedicated to synthesis. All participants are urged to add to and critique syntheses, bringing to bear their own expertise.
Similar to the Research Projects are the studies of Global Trends. The Global Trends attempt to capture major developments in demography, economics and international conflict that can inform more specific discourse in the research projects. Proposed projects have been suggested as questions of interest that will progress to full project status when enough interest (in the form of discourse on the page) has been shown.
Membership to an individual project is open to applications, but participation in any project only requires a registered Wikidot identity. Only site members can add pages.
